Our Story

Liberty K9 was founded by Dakota Tuck, a former Police K9 handler who turned his passion for working with dogs into a professional training business in Waynesville, OH. With a background in law enforcement canine operations, Dakota brings a depth of understanding about dog behavior, communication, and training that goes far beyond what most civilian trainers can offer.

After years of working with highly trained police dogs, Dakota recognized that the same principles — clear communication, consistent expectations, and structured training — could transform family pets just as effectively. Liberty K9 was born from that conviction.

Meet Dakota Tuck

Dakota’s experience as a Police K9 handler gave him firsthand knowledge of what it takes to build reliable obedience under the most demanding conditions. He has handled dogs in high-stress environments where a command not followed could mean the difference between safety and danger. That professional-grade expertise is now available to families in the Waynesville area and surrounding communities.

Dakota personally handles every training session and every board and train dog that comes through the Liberty K9 facility. There are no junior trainers or assistants working with your dog — you get Dakota’s full attention and expertise.

Our Facility

The Liberty K9 training facility, located at 6978 Cook-Jones Rd in Waynesville, OH, has been newly renovated to provide the best possible environment for dog training and boarding. The facility features dedicated training areas, comfortable boarding accommodations, and professional dog wash stations. Every aspect of the space was designed with your dog’s safety, comfort, and training success in mind.
